SCOPE OF THE DOCUMENT
This policy document outlines the ethical guidelines to be followed by all stakeholders of the institution. It serves as a framework for maintaining appropriate documentation and upholding ethical conduct. The document clearly defines the expected standards of behaviour for students both on and off campus, with the overarching goal of achieving excellence through integrity, accountability, and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
OBJECTIVES
To instil awareness among students and other stakeholders about their responsibilities, and the principles and standards upheld by the institution across all activities, thereby ensuring the sustained quality of education and research in alignment with the college's vision
To ensure adherence to the institution's ethical code of conduct by all stakeholders, including faculty, non-teaching staff, students, and affiliated members, thereby upholding integrity and accountability across all institutional activities
CODE OF ETHICS
Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science for Women as an educational institution is dedicated to fostering an environment of learning, growth, empowerment and ethical conduct. The commitment to excellence in education extends beyond the classroom, encompassing the values and principles that guide the behaviour of the students, faculty, supportive staff and administrators. The code of ethics serves as a cornerstone of the institution, outlining the standards of integrity, respect and responsibility of all stake holders.
Academic Integrity: All the members of the college are expected to promote honesty, integrity and fair play in all educational pursuits. Plagiarism, cheating and other forms of academic dishonesty are prohibited.
Professional Conduct: The college expects professionalism from all members of the institution and respectful interactions between students, faculty, staff and administrators.
Community Engagement: Engagement with the local community and society as a whole is encouraged by the college to promote social responsibility and volunteerism.
Communication: Open and honest communication within the institution is promoted. The college encourages constructive dialogue and free exchange of ideas.
Diversity and Inclusivity: The college emphasizes respect for diversity and inclusion of all individuals regardless of race, gender, religion, ethnicity or background.
Environmental Responsibility: All the members of the college are expected to be committed to environmental sustainability and practices.
Research Ethics: The college promotes ethical research practices, including proper citation and attribution.
Education and Training: Education and training on the institution's code of ethics are provided to ensure all stakeholders understand their responsibilities and obligations.

OUTCOME
The effective implementation and consistent adherence to a clearly articulated code of ethics fosters a more ethical, inclusive, and supportive educational environment. This leads to a broad spectrum of positive impacts, enhancing the experiences and contributions of students, faculty, staff, and administrators, while strengthening the institution's overall integrity and reputation.
ANNEXURE I
CODE OF CONDUCT
Code of Conduct is intended as a guide for all stake holders, to indicate the standards of conduct which are expected of them, to enable them to understand their legal duties and to assist them both in carrying out their duties and in their relationship with the College. This Code is, therefore, aimed at promoting effective and well-informed college governance and is not intended to be a definitive or authoritative statement of the law.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR GOVERNING BODY
Support the aims and objectives of the College and act in good faith in its interests. Each member should also act honestly and diligently in promoting the interests of the College and its stake holders.
Work co-operatively with other members of the trust for the benefit of the College
Give priority to attend all the meetings of the Governing Body and its Committees in order to ensure that the members can perform their functions properly
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PRINCIPAL
As the academic and administrative head, the principal should always be fair, honest, objective, supportive, law abiding and should contribute for the growth of the institute.
Prepare and execute the long term / short term plans towards the attainment of vision / mission of the college.
Implement the policies approved by the Board of Trustees.
Plan the budgetary provision and implement the same.
Maintain the discipline and decorum of the institution.
Formulate and oversee the coordination among various statutory committees and non-statutory bodies
Exhibit highest integrity and outstanding leadership.
Monitor the admissions, examinations and evaluation for smooth functioning of the system.
Coordinate and motivate the faculty, administrative authorities and the supporting staff.
She along with all the staff working under her is singularly and collectively responsible to the Board of Trustees, University, State Government, UGC, students and parents for the smooth and effective functioning of the college.
Direct and monitor the administration of academic programs and general administration of the college.
Strive for excellence / continuous improvement in education and academic services.
Promote research culture and industry interaction.
Empower staff and students to reach their maximum potential.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR HOD's
Diligently discharge the duties related to academic activities of the department.
Assist the principal in all academic matters.
Be aware of and adhere to the Bharathiar University guidelines and norms.
Plan the manpower requirement, assist in recruitment process and ensure for allocation of courses/responsibilities to faculty.
Prepare the budget and execute the same.
Plan and execute the curricular, Co-curricular, extra-curricular and extension activities for the benefit of all concerned.
Ensure the holistic development of students.
Render equal and fair treatment of students/ faculty colleagues.
Maintain professionalism, dignity and decorum.
Ensure effective teaching learning process and use of innovative technologies in the curriculum.
Ensure the faculty development through motivating them for continuous learning and deputing them to seminars/ workshops/conferences/FDP/Training.
Develop the research culture in the department through applying for funding agencies, publications etc.
Use social networking sites responsibly to ensure that neither personal/professional reputations nor the College's reputation is compromised by inappropriate postings.
Maintain /preserve all needed documents meticulously.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR FACULTY
Abide by the rules and regulations of the College.
Respect the right and dignity of students in expressing their opinion.
Strive for holistic development of students and develop their personalities and at the same time motivate through personal counselling as and when needed.
Perform the professional duties with integrity and devotion.
Be punctual to the class, attending meetings, invigilation, college functions and national celebrations.
Faculty members shall not be absent from the College without prior approval.
Faculty to mentor their mentees and create a cordial relationship.
Follow uniform dress code during important college functions.
Wear identity cards at all times.
Maintain dignity and decorum in dealing with superiors, colleagues and students.
Abstain from using use cell phones during class hours, examination duties and while attending meetings.
Not to discriminate students on any grounds of caste, creed, religion, nationality, language etc.
Not to demonstrate favouritism in assessment of students / attempt at victimization on any grounds.
Not to disclose confidential information about management / students to anyone.
Not to accept honorarium, fee or gift from students.
To use the facilities/ amenities provided by the institution to discharge the duties and not for personal purpose.
Strive to set an example to colleagues and students.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR NON-TEACHING/ SUPPORTING STAFF
Abide by the rules and regulations of the College.
Maintain punctuality in reporting to the office.
Discharge duties/ responsibilities meticulously and effectively.
Wear the ID cards at all times.
Maintain honesty, integrity and equality in all activities.
Exhibit respect/ care in dealing with faculty/ students/ parents/ public and all stakeholders.
Maintain /preserve all needed documents meticulously.
Supporting staff are expected to proceed in their daily duties in a professional manner.
Not to be absent from the office without prior approval.
Carry out the University/ UGC/ other academic bodies regarding work assigned by the principal.
Non- teaching staff assigned to lab be responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of labs.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS
Abide by the rules and regulations of the College.
Maintain the highest standards of discipline and dignified behaviour inside as well as outside the College.
Be present in the class well -within time and not to leave the campus during class hours.
Submit the leave application on time to concerned class advisors and HOD for sanction.
Wear identity cards at all times.
Follow uniform dress code during important college functions.
Perform super brain yoga every day prior to the commencement of first hour class.
Enroll in Value added courses and 3 clubs of the college.
Maintain the cleanliness of the college.
Abstain from ragging and any other offensive act.
Tobacco usage and drug abuse are strictly prohibited within the college premises.
Restrict the use of cell phones for education purpose/ for emergency communications only.
Use social networking sites responsibly to ensure that neither personal/professional reputations nor the College's reputation is compromised by inappropriate postings.
Use CMS for applying leave, bonafide certificate, fee payment etc.
Use google classroom for learning purpose.
Use all resources in college/ library/ lab judiciously and with care.
