Institution Innovation Council

To foster the culture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship among the students, IIC of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science for Women organises various Workshops.seminars,hackathon, competitions related to Innovation and entrepreneurship. The events not only impart Knowledge among the student’s but also induce to generate new innovate ideas and leads further to convert idea into prototype.

IIC Events

  • Idea Pitching Competition was organized by the Institution Innovation Council(IIC) on December 18, 2020. Prizes were given in three categories namely Best Idea,Best Solution and Best Presentation.The judges for the event were Dr.Mathipurani.V.B, Programme Coordinator-BA(Hons) IB, PSG HUBS and Mr.Sathya Prashanth,Founder & Trainer,Sociopotents.
  • Workshop on “Entrepreneurship Development Phases” was organized on 30th December, 2020. The chief guest was Dr. Shyam Prashad Rajasekaran, Founder and CEO, Twirltact Technology Solutions Private Limited.
  • E-Talk was organized on 26th December, 2020. Ms. Aafreen, Proprietor, Aaf’s Bakehouse, Coimbatore was the chief guest.
  • Orientation Session on National Education Policy 2020 (with focus on innovation and entrepreneurship) on 28th November, 2020.

Achievements

  • Out of 18 teams, two teams were selected for the grand finale of Smart India Hackathon held on 2nd and 3rd March 2019 at Varanasi and Chattisgarh.
  • S.Sushmitha (Team leader), G.Hamsadhwani, P.Ashmitha , A.Neha sharma from III B.Sc Computer Science, T.Rakitha from III BCA and M.Shanmugapriya from II B.Com(PA) mentored by Dr.S.Preetha Associate professor and Mr.Senthil Kumar, Technical Architect, TCS Innovation lab, Bangalore won first prize of Rs.75,000/- in the 36 hours Smart India Hackathon 2019 held at Banaras Hindu University,Varanasi.
  • Pavithra Selvan (Team leader), Varshini Dakshinamoorthy, Gayathri Sabareeswaran, Keerthika Selvaraj, Saranya Marimuthu, and Priyanka kannan from I M.Sc Microbiology mentored Dr.M.Mekala Associate professor won first prize of Rs.50,000/- in the 36 hours Smart India Hackathon 2019 held at Chhattisgarh, Pune.
