Institution Innovation Council
To foster the culture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship among the students, IIC of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science for Women organises various Workshops.seminars,hackathon, competitions related to Innovation and entrepreneurship. The events not only impart Knowledge among the student’s but also induce to generate new innovate ideas and leads further to convert idea into prototype.

- A session on “Accelerators/Incubation – Opportunities for Students & Faculties – Early-Stage Entrepreneurs” was organized on 26.08.2022
- My Story – Motivational Session by Successful Innovators was organized on 8.11.2022
- My Story – Motivational Session by Successful Startup founder was organized on 9.11.2022
- Workshop on Entrepreneurship and Innovation as Career Opportunity was organized on 15.11.2022
- An Industrial Visit to Start-up Incubators (PSG-STEP) was organized for the students on 02.12.2022
- Workshop on Entrepreneurship Skill, Attitude and Behaviour Development was organized on 27.02.2023.
- Inter Department Competition on Best Innovations was organized on 27.2.2023
- Expert talk on “Process of Innovation Development and Technology Readiness Level (TRL)” and “Commercialization of Lab Technologies & Tech- Transfer” was organized on 27.02.2023
- Workshop on Design Thinking, Critical Thinking and Innovation Design was organized on 27.2.2023
- Workshop on Business Model Canvas was organized on 01.04.2023.
Achievements
- SIH – 2022 – 4 teams from the institution participated in Smart India Hackathon 2022 finals held at GIET University – Odisha, Gujarat Technological University – Gujarat, Presidency University – Bangalore, BS Abdul Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology – Chennai and won Naari Shakti Award and Cash Prize of Rs.20000.
- 9 teams from Department of Computer Science, Biochemistry and Microbiology submitted their ideas for Toycathon 2021. Students team LEATHEL GIRLS and Team GRAVITY in physical category, Biosquad in digital category got selected for TOYCATHON Finals.
- Out of 18 teams, two teams were selected for the grand finale of Smart India Hackathon held on 2nd and 3rd March 2019 at Varanasi and Chattisgarh.
- S.Sushmitha (Team leader), G.Hamsadhwani, P.Ashmitha , A.Neha sharma from III B.Sc Computer Science, T.Rakitha from III BCA and M.Shanmugapriya from II B.Com(PA) mentored by Dr.S.Preetha Associate professor and Mr.Senthil Kumar, Technical Architect, TCS Innovation lab, Bangalore won first prize of Rs.75,000/- in the 36 hours Smart India Hackathon 2019 held at Banaras Hindu University,Varanasi.
- Pavithra Selvan (Team leader), Varshini Dakshinamoorthy, Gayathri Sabareeswaran, Keerthika Selvaraj, Saranya Marimuthu, and Priyanka kannan from I M.Sc Microbiology mentored Dr.M.Mekala Associate professor won first prize of Rs.50,000/- in the 36 hours Smart India Hackathon 2019 held at Chhattisgarh, Pune.
- Students from Computer Science Department Participated in Hackathon organized by Saraswathy Thiagaraja College, Udumelpet and won a cash award.
